Sonja Larsson – Transmissions

15 January - 14 February 2026
Overview

As our first exhibition in 2026, we are delighted to present Sonja Larsson’s fifth solo show at the gallery, Transmissions.

Transmissions presents a new body of Larsson’s large-scale abstract work, continuing her long-standing exploration of rhythm and geometry in painting. A fascination with the precision offered by nature–from the tiniest microscopic building blocks of life to the unfathomable forces in space–is at the core of Larsson’s artistic practice. Often adhering to a predefined set of rules, her paintings unfold step by step through repeated layering where the trace of the hand is clearly visible. Every stroke creates more body, adding a sculptural dimension to painting.

Each work in the exhibition is an encouragement to contemplation. The physical experience of colour and rhythm gradually grows during the process of viewing, allowing the painting to occupy both time and space.
