We are happy to announce the opening of Yael Bartana's solo show Things to Come at Gl Strand in Copenhagen. The exhibition is Bartana’s most extensive presentation in Denmark to date. Her work grapples with collective memories, myths of origin, and some of the darkest chapters in human history. Still, the works always point towards ways of imagining territories and archeologies of the future.
The exhibition presents a wide selection from Bartana’s work and spans different media, exploring the idealised narratives connected to the creation of the state of Israel, issues of gender and power politics, and the unresolved conflicts of German-Jewish history. Things to Come holds hope for a better future while pointing to the possibility of the opposite. Read more about the exhibition here.
